Anthony David Parbery is a solicitor and an accredited mediator NMAS.

Location:  Sydney, however Anthony is prepared to travel.

  • Admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia, 1976
  • Admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW, 1973.

From 12 January 2011 to 01 March 2012, Justice and Attorney General - Law Access NSW, 3 days a week, solicitor providing telephone advice in relation to civil law.

From 28 April 2008 to 31 August 2009 Anthony was Manager, Community Referral Service & Dispute Resolution, The Law Society of NSW.

Anthony managed the:

  • Community Referral Service
  • Pro Bono Scheme.
  • Dispute Resolution Department.

As a separate function Anthony was also, until August 2008, the Responsible Legal Officer and Executive Member of the Law Society's Business Law Committee.

From November 2003 to April 2008 Anthony was sole Legal Information Officer, The Law Society of NSW and provided telephone assistance to members in relation to conveyancing, general litigation, family law, wills and estates, legal practice, the sale and purchase of legal practices and a wide variety of other topics including costs and conduct.

From 1999 to 2003 Anthony worked as a locum solicitor, in country NSW, Sydney city and suburbs and Newcastle for legal practices and for:

  • The Department of Fair Trading Legal Services Division acting in relation to building matters;
  • Building Insurers Guarantee Corporation, a statutory corporation, acting in relation to builders insurance and claims against licenced conveyancers; and
  • Harvey Norman, a public company.

From 1973 to 1999 Anthony practiced in country NSW as an employee, then partner and then as a sole practitioner solicitor.

Major clients included:

  • a dairy produce cooperative
  • a large rural farming estate
  • a Local Government Council
  • a Building Society.

Other experience includes: 

Anthony has been a member of 3 Federal Government related committees;

the Honorary Solicitor for a number of community organisations;

a member of Legacy;

a member of Apex including as a club President;

an active member and an active reserve member of a surf life saving club; and

a High School Mock Trial Judge and High School Team coach.

Law Society  

Anthony is a current full member of The Law Society of NSW.

He was President from January 1991 to January 1993 of the Far South Coast and Monaro Regional Law Society.

He was a member of the Property Law Practice Committee of The Law Society of NSW in 1996, 1997, and 1999 and a member of the Property Law Committee in 2000 and 2001. A function of the Committees was to resolve disputes between parties to property transactions.
